Mentor Capital Encounters Chinese and Other International Cancer Investment Interest |
| |
|
San Diego, CA--June 20, 2011--Mentor Capital, Inc. (Pink Sheets:MNTR) reports that Chinese visitors comprised 24%
of views on its MentorCapital.com website covering leading-edge cancer development and investment. An equal
proportion came from other worldwide locations. This increased international investor interest seems to correspond
to Mentor Capital’s recent decision to expand its cancer-only investment activity to include promising cancer
companies outside of the United States.
“There are bright minds in every country,” comments Mentor Capital, CEO, Chester Billingsley. “Often researchers
are educated in the U.S. and continue some of their key cancer development work here. Any meaningful breakthrough
quickly becomes international. If our shareholders are backing a German cancer vaccine, it will come to benefit
patients in New York just as quickly as if it were developed in California.”
The technical diversity of new Mentor discussions from the international pool include an Israeli company that uses
small unmatched donor infusions to trigger an aggressive cancer fighting immune response; an Italian company
capturing and identifying minute traces of cancer cells on a silicon chip; and a Chinese company at the forefront
of DNA screening to steer personalized cancer treatments.
“Another factor in the increased Mentor Capital international investment interest may be that holding shares in
biotech companies may be becoming more attractive to the ‘return-free risk’ contemplated by foreign holders of U S.
Treasuries. Whatever the reason, we will continue our worldwide search to align our shareholder’s investments
behind the best new cancer solutions,” concludes Billingsley.
Mentor Capital currently holds $2.50 per Mentor share in cancer assets from twelve companies. Management seeks to
weight its investments so that it’s socially responsible shareholders support the best medical science in the
battle against cancer. Typical cancer investments can be tracked through updates and summaries of the several
smaller stock purchases made for the Cancer Immunotherapy Index presented at www.MentorCapital.com.
